Sup Fam!

Sup Fam!

This week was great! We saw the hand of the Lord in our life a lot this week.

First off it was super sad because Elder LeBaron went home this week. Im gonna miss that guy. We had a great time working together and this week we saw the fruits of that work! My new comp is Elder Ortiz! He is super dope and im super excited to see what is going to happen. This week we had 7 investigators come to church, which is a miracle here! We had the Melo family, the Infante family, and then a girl named Carina. It was amazing to see that the Lord blessed us in such a great way after the trial of our faith. 1 Nefi 2:15!! most of you are probably wondering why that scripture. But just look it up and figure out why its a trial of our faith :) I know that as we leave everything behind and we do all we can to serve the Lord he will bless us continually and lead us to the promised land and the blessings that he has prepared for us! I know that this is the work of the Lord and that He lives today and is guiding His one and only true church.  Please pray for our investiagtors so that they can get baptized soon and for our mission to keep progressing! Love you all!

-Elder Stuart

(oh yeah, and the changes in missionary work! it isnt too diferent from what we were doing here before, the biggest change really is that we do daily planning in the morning in stead of the night, and we only have four key indicators instead of 9! pretty interesting! If you have questions just ask. the training was amazing!)

When I asked about what the Key Indicators were, this was Elder Stuart's response:
We used to keep track of lessons taught, lessons with member, referecnces and all that. but now it is just Baptisms, people at church, baptismal dates, and new investigatores. It all has the final goal of baptizing. it is awesome! (does that make sense?) and we still get up at 6:30, get back home at 9, and to bed at 10:30.

Neuquen & New Comp

This week was great!!! I got to go to Neuquen and get my new comp! His name is Elder Ortiz from Peru! I am so excited to be with a latino again! (no offence my gringo comps... i love you guys too!) but now my spanish can get better! We got back and we went right to work, and the first day Elder Ortiz got the taste of what a mission is like. It was down pour rain most of the day so we were soaked, and obviously the argentines are warm and toasty in their house and dont want to answer. But we were able to find some investigators that we could teach! We also were going back at the end of the night and decided to go to one more reference. They let us in and we were able to teach the whole family of 4! It was an amazing experience! I am so excited for this next transfer and i know i am going to grow a lot. I have been humbled so much and learned so much already. I love being in the service of the Lord!

Also at the beginning of the week while i was waiting form Ortiz to get here, i got to spend three days with Elder Juarez and Barrios in a trio! It was a lot of fun to be back with them and to all work together! I learned so much in that short time and we had a blast! Things are amazing here in Argentina, the Lord is hastening his work every day :) It is amazing to be a part of it. Hope all is well and know that i love and pray for each and everyone of you back home! Have a wonderful week, and look for a way to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! :)

Elder Stuart

Transfer

Well another transfer... and another change! I am staying here in Godoy and Elder Barrios is headed off to Bariloche. I am so grateful for the time that I got to be his companion. I learned so much and really learned that the Lord knows who and what we need in our life to help us grow into the people that he needs us to be. Now I am with Elder Elwood from Idaho. Another Gringo! haha gringos have their ups and downs. But i am way excited to work with elder Elwood and see what I can learn from him and what we can do together here in Godoy!

We had kind of a rough week. Juan and Antonia who came to church with us and were doing so good, their pastor came by their house and talked with them, and now they dont want to be baptized and are going back to their old church. That made me so sad. Because they were so close to opening the gate to a million blessings and because of a pastor they now cant recieve those blessings yet. We are going to try and see what we can do with them to help them see that this is the truth. On the bright side, we were teaching this lady this week and her daughter was there and didnt want to listen, but half way through the lesson she came and sat down and was really intereseted and so that was awesome! We are going to keep working our hardest to help her and our other investigators come to the waters of baptism!
Not much to write this week. But I know that this church is true. I know that it is only in the church of Jesus Christ that one day we will live with our families forever, and that makes me so happy! I am so happy to be a missionary in this day and see the Lord Hastening his work and seeing all the miracles that he does to help people recieve the gift of eternal life. I know that it is only through the grace and the atonement that we can be saved, and I am so grateful for the oportunity to preach his gospel. I love you all and hope you all have a great week and remember our Savior always!!!!!!

Transfers...again!

Hola familia y amigos!!!

This week was a really good week! We are finding some really good investigators, and I really am growing to love the people here :) We still are having a problem with our investigators coming to church... so we are trying to find out how to help them come to church. We also had transfers this week. Elder Rose left, and now I am with Elder Barrios from Panama! It was hard to leave another comp but I am excited to be with my sixth comp... hahah! But me and Elder Barrios already get along great and i can tell that we are going to work really hard and have a lot of success. I am excited to also be with a Latino again because it will help my spanish a lot!
So it was kinda hard this week because Brian and Guadalupe had to go to Roca on short notice and they werent able to be baptized this week... so hopefully this next coming week! It was hard because I just want them to receive those blessings but it keeps getting pushed back, but we are going to baptize them this week! We also are working on a couple others, who just need to assist to be baptized.
Things are great here and I am loving the work here. South America is amazing and I love the people here in Argentina and in Godoy. They are so loving and humble and i am so lucky to be a missionary here in this time. There are always rough patches but at the end of the day we can all look back and see the many blessings that we have recieved. Thanks for all your love and support! I love and miss you all! Until next week :)

Elder Stuart

We also had a really funny experience! I had to go to Neuquen thursday to do paper work to be legal... haha! And we had Subway there!!! It was so good :) Then we got back to Godoy at 5:40 and had a appointment in the chapel at 7 and the chaple is 20 minutes away. We had three families to visit in that time. So we straight up ran from house to house and taught everyone in time. It was crazy!! We were able to get to everyone though... and wasn´t the first time we ran house to house! haha it was fun!

MTC

Hola Familia!! It is the second day here in the MTC and they have given us ten minutes to hurry and write home to let you know how we are doing. Things here are GREAT!!! I love the spirit that I feel when I am here, and the biggest thing that I have learned in these two days is that prayer is key to having the spirit with you. I have never prayed so much in my entire life, and I have already noticed the difference that it has made in my life. I challenge all of you to increase your amount of daily prayers, and family prayers. If you pray once a day, up it to two times. If you pray five times a day, up it to six. I promise you that as you do this you will have the spirit stronger in your life, and that it will bless you in more ways that you know, so that is my challenge for this week.

My companion is Elder Lloyd and I really like him! We get along great and I can tell that he has a great spirit about him. We also are rooming with Elder Fielding and Elder Buzan, and we get along great with them as well! The first day was crazy with so many emotions, but as soon as the tears and homesickness went away I was able to feel the spirit so strongly that it really helped comfort me. We got all my stuff, dropped it by my room, and then headed straight to class... where they did not speak one word of english!!! It was intense but i feel like i actually understood quite a bit! We then went to a devotional and we opened by singing called to serve. And the spirit that you can feel when we sing that song is incredible and unlike anything else. We then were able to role play with three different investigators as the "Orange Dots", or new kids, and that was a really cool learning experience! Then we went back and unpacked and got ready for bed. It was an incredible day and I love the spirit I am feeling here.

I have seen so many familiar faces here that it has really helped to know that my friends are out serving the Lord just like I am! I was able to see Sister Alapa and catch up and get a few tips on the MTC before I had to rush to class so that was really cool! All the familiar faces have really helped.

I miss you guys so much but i know that this is were my Savior needs me at this time and i Can't wait to be able to get to Argentina and be able to serve the people there and bring this light unto them. I love you all so much and thank you for all of your examples that you set for me! Remember that Christ lives and that He loves us, and that through Him and His Atonement anything is possible. Keep praying, and know that all of you are in my prayers. I love you all.

Love,  (Finally)Elder Stuart :)
